Schoology: 2014 Best Overall Education Solution

index

Using an online network to communicate with your teachers, other students and any other professionals, is surely beneficial for all students. One amazing tool, which was also awarded the Best Overall Education Solution in 2014 is Schoology; with the prime aim being that of enhancing the learning environment for all students. This tool gives the teacher the possibility to upload their resources, communicate with their students, assess them; basically anything which can be done in class can be also shared interactively using this online resource. Some of the things a teacher can do are:

  •  Post assignments
  •  Maintain a calendar
  •  Record grades
  •  Organize notes
  •  Trap due dates
  •  Post comments, like other professional comments, share them
  •  Link to dropbox
  •  Give individual feedback to students

It can also be accessed from mobile phones and it is completely free of charge. It is a great of in engaging your students and one may easily get more ideas and resources from other professionals who are using such tool with their students as well. Furthermore, it is also very simple to learn how to use as its layout is very similar to other social media applications, and can be customized to ones likings. Its integration power is not solely with Dropbox, but also with other tools such as turnitin, moodle, googleapps and powerschool. It does not require any installations as it is online and everything is stored in the cloud.

I believe it is a great tool as it gives those students, who find it hard to communicate in class, a change to express their ideas and collaborate with other students and professionals online.
